AAUA Matriculates 262 Pioneer Postgraduate Students of Ondo State Public Service Training Institute

No fewer than two hundred and sixty-two (262) Postgraduate Students of Ondo State Public Service Training Institute (PSTI) were matriculated by Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) during a matriculation ceremony held at PSTI, Ilara- Mokin on Saturday, 29th July, 2023.

Speaking shortly after the Oath of Allegiance was administered by the Registrar of AAUA, Mr. Olugbenga Arajulu on the matriculants, the Director General of PSTI, Dr. Olumide Asere said the inaugural matriculation ceremony in collaboration with AAUA is a dream come true as the institute which was conceived and patterned after notable institutions like the Malaysian Institute of Public Administration, the Centre for Management Development (CMD) among others is indeed living up to expectations to redefine training, retraining and capacity building in line with global best practices.

Dr. Asere while giving kudos to the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his massive support and also the visionary Head of Service, past and present whose vision contributed immensely to the birth and success that PSTI is witnessing, further assured that the institute remains committed to qualitative training. He also used the occasion to particularly thank the Vice Chancellor of AAUA, Prof. Olugbenga Ige to whose credit the success of the day’s event is to be ascribed, saying PSTI now has approval to run Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Management and Quality Assurance for Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Strategic Studies.

The Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele said he was very happy to be a part of the event which he described as being in tandem with the vision of Governor Akeredolu as clearly spelt out in his vision for educational advancement and human capital development.

Pastor Ogundele who also used the opportunity to congratulate PSTI and the management of AAUA for partnering on knowledge sharing applauded matriculants for taking up the challenge to improve their knowledge. Earlier in his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University while acknowledging that the training marks a giant stride in AAUA as it represents high level man power training, charged the students to stay focused on improving their knowledge as the University will not condone anti-social behavior.

He also affirmed the commitment of the University to advance knowledge and skills of public officers in government establishment stressing that as an Ivory tower, and catalyst in training, program exchange, knowledge dissemination and skill development play roles major through teaching, research and community service.
