The Ondo State Public Service Training Institute (PSTI), Ilara-Mokin, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, continues its groundbreaking initiative to train 1,000 teachers on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Following a successful launch, the training program has now reached the southern senatorial district of Ondo State, furthering the state’s commitment to leveraging technology for educational advancement.

This initiative aligns with the SEEDS agenda of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, focusing on AI in education to transform the sector. By equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills to utilize AI applications, the program aims to enhance teaching practices and improve student learning outcomes.

Speaking in Okitipupa, the Permanent Secretary/Director General of PSTI, Dr. Olumide Asere, represented by Registrar Mr. Adeyemo Sheriff, highlighted the training’s importance in the digital age. He emphasized that AI proficiency is crucial for educators to remain effective and boost productivity. AI tools can personalize learning experiences, foster critical thinking, and ultimately contribute to economic development.

Participants expressed their gratitude for the program. Mrs. Macaulay Glory from Ilaje Local Government praised the initiative’s accessibility, while Mr. David from Odigbo Local Government noted its potential to enhance efficiency and update teaching practices. Mr. Adebayo Sunday from Okitipupa Local Government commended the governor for embracing AI’s innovative applications in education, creating a more inclusive and effective learning environment.
